One of the reasons I love the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens for family sessions is that there is so much variety in plant life! There are different “regions” of the world which are mimicked by the plants and shrubs. It makes for a great place to take advantage of the foliage variety and give the images a new look and feel. And…I have a thing for succulents. I love the look of them in photos! I love them so much, in fact, that my husband and I eloped in Joshua Tree just so we could get photos in the desert with all the stunning Joshua trees and cactus plants. So you can bet my favorite area of the Botanical Gardens is the desert area with all the different types of succulents! For this session, I had the privilege of photographing an Alameda family I’ve known for a few years now. I love photographing this family so much! I met baby Smith when he was a newborn, and it’s been so fun watching him grow into the cute little toddler he is today.
