Our Washington Destination Wedding

A photographer’s dream is to travel out of state for a wedding, into mountains or rolling green hills.

I especially love the Pacific Northwest. When I was asked to shoot Brianna and Nick’s Pacific Northwest destination wedding in Snoqualmie, I was so excited!

My parents live outside of Seattle and I grew up in Oregon, so I was familiar with the area. I have been missing those beautiful Pacific Northwest summers and all the green landscape.

Brianna and Nick lived near me in California, so we did their engagement session in Monterey, but they were really looking forward to having the backdrop for their wedding be the majestic mountains of Snoqualmie.

I could not get over how pretty the mountains were at this venue. They were in a perfect location, so that we could capture the perfect greenery of the grass, but also the misty haze of the glorious mountains in the background. It was a perfect backdrop for this Washington destination wedding.

After their ceremony, the sky turned an amazing pink color at sunset. We actually left the reception for a few minutes so that we could capture the sunset for a few of their portraits. I’d say it definitely paid off!

Brianna & Nick

Brianna and Nick, as mentioned earlier, are not currently residing in Washington. However, they decided they would go back to Brianna’s home for a destination wedding, as they wanted backdrops that differ from what we had in Northern California.

We started the day with Brianna’s getting ready photos at her childhood home, which featured her and her bridesmaids wearing different colored floral robes. We took a few pictures of them getting their hair and makeup done, as well as them celebrating with champagne before walking down the aisle!

After, we took a few pictures of Brianna and Nick before the ceremony for their first look. This is when the bride and groom see each other for the first time before their ceremony.

Throughout the wedding, the backdrop and happy couple just kept reminding me how lucky I was to experience this glorious wedding. The mountains, the couple, the venue all was such a dream to capture. This Washington destination wedding was definitely something I hope to experience again!
