A Cedar Bend Wedding

Events at Cedar Bend is a really relaxed, outdoorsy, rustic-type venue located in Cedar Park, Texas. It is just outside of Austin. As you will hear about below, Kimberly, the bride, did not want a rustic wedding so was able to achieve a different look for this wedding that was more elegant and modern. That is the neat thing about this venue – you can really customize the look and decor to your liking!

The Couple

Oh my – it is hard to say enough amazing things about this Cedar Bend wedding and this amazing couple! I met Kimberly and Troy when I photographed their engagement session at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, and immediately I loved them! They were so stylish and naturally photogenic, and I knew it would be the same for their wedding. Kimberly and Troy actually met at a 7-11, which makes their love story even more unique! Troy was smitten with her the second he saw her at a nearby 7-11 to where he worked and where Kimberly would stop by to drop her son off at school. He never got the nerve to ask her out, until one day, he did. That was it for them!

The Wedding

The wedding was held at Cedar Bend in Cedar Creek, Texas, just outside of Austin. Kimberly knew she didn’t want her wedding to be rustic, and this venue can come across as quite rustic. So Kimberly put her DIY skills to work and turned the venue into an elegant and chic spot for their wedding, yet also simple and natural with the surrounding trees and landscape. I was so impressed with her handy work! Right before the ceremony there was a rain storm, but luckily it cleared up just in time for Kimberly to walk down the aisle. The light was beautiful as they said their vows, and I was in awe once again of the beauty of Texas. Kimberly and Troy knew exactly what they wanted out of photos for this wedding – lots of photos of themselves and their kids, and lot of candid and fun photos of their friends and family. That was easy to do since everyone was smiling and occasionally crying (tears of joy) throughout the wedding. It was a great day!
