Hesti + Nick | Dripping Springs outdoor wedding

Hesti and Nick only had to see Cactus Moon Lodge in Dripping Springs once to know it was the perfect spot for their dreamy and romantic Dripping Springs outdoor wedding. Cactus Moon Lodge, also an airbnb, also hosts weddings and events here in the Austin hill country. Not only is it a really fun and beautifully-decorated space for weddings, but it also a photographer’s dream! With gorgeous stucco walls, murals, unique plants, a pool and even a trailer to decorate it’s grounds, as a wedding photographer it was easy to find places to photograph this gorgeous couple.

Hesti and Nick started out the day getting ready in the bride and groom suites, which are perfectly decorated and full of windows for letting in the sunlight. The ceremony is located towards the front of the house, with plants all around and an adorable archway for the bride and groom to stand under. Because of the all the trees and surrounding structures of the house, it is protected from too much sun but still sunny enough for a beautiful ceremony close to sunset. As an Austin wedding photographer, I often have to shoot ceremonies in full sun so I appreciated that the owners and coordinators took the time to plan out the best location and time for the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the guests were able to go to the back porch, where tables were set by the pool on a cliff overlooking the hill country vista and the sunset. It was such a beautiful spot to be served dinner and listen to speeches from family and friends! Dancing resumed out front where the ceremony once was, and the string lights hanging from the trees created the perfect ambiance for the remainder of the night. Cactus Moon Lodge is perfect for those looking into booking a wedding venue for a small to medium-sized wedding!
