The Preserve at Canyon Lake | Haley and Jonathan

The Preserve at Canyon Lake is a beautiful new venue right in between Austin and San Antonio, perfect for couples looking for a large venue with ample space indoors and outdoors. This venue is fairly new, and wow, did they do a great job setting this one up! Take a look at these beautiful photos of Haley and Jonathan to see for yourself!

The grounds are gorgeous, situated near a large pond with oak trees as far as you can see in any direction. While there is an option to get married outside, it is hard to say no to the indoor chapel, with large windows that stretch from floor to ceiling and ample natural light. The windows look out onto the pond and it’s the most perfect scenery to get married in front of! It also has a balcony that leads to the bridal suite and makes for a perfect spot for Austin and San Antonio wedding photographers to get that wide shot of the entire ceremony space!

I also have to hand it to the architects and interior designers for planning an absolutely stunning bridal suite! The bridal suite at the Preserve at Canyon Lake has large windows on both sides with incredible views, and a balcony. One door exits to a stunning overhead view of the chapel and the other door exits to a spiral staircase that is perfect for grand entrances to the reception. The bridal suite has plenty of room for a large bridal party, moms and other family members. The lighting is beautiful inside, soft and natural.

One thing I really appreciate about this venue, as an Austin wedding photographer, is that the interior is mainly white, with beautiful accents of wood throughout. Light bounces more easily off of white walls. While the reception area is very big, those white walls help us wedding photographers out when we need to bounce our strobes around the room. This creates a very soft, natural, and romantic look for your wedding photos. I have to say, this is one of my favorite venues I have been to so far in my four years in Texas!

Haley and Jonathan are one of the sweetest couples I have ever met! Not only did they drive completely out of their way all the way from Houston to do their engagement session with me at Canyon Lake, but Haley also was extremely flexible with her bridal portraits at the Preserve at Canyon Lake when it kept raining on us.
