Tess and Charlie had a beautiful October wedding at one of Austin’s best wedding venues, The Allan House. It is a gorgeous old mansion, built in 1883! Austin wedding photographers love to photograph weddings at this venue for it’s charm and neat location. If you go to the third floor, you can look out at all the high rise buildings surrounding it. It is a great alternative to the typical hill country venues we see all over Texas, that are more nature-based.
Charlie and Tess started out at their homes for getting ready photos and were able to easily transition over to The Church of the Good Shepherd for their ceremony. This is actually one of my favorite churches to photograph wedding ceremonies in Austin because it has a lot of space outside and beautiful arches in order to do first looks, wedding party and family photos. There is even a courtyard with flowers all around, so it makes a nice space to get some photography done before or after the ceremony.
After doing first look, the ceremony and family photos at Austin’s Church of the Good Shepherd, we headed out to The Allan House for the reception. I especially love The Allan House for nighttime photography, because it is fun to see the surrounding city lights. The couple had Blind Date, an Austin band, perform all night and they were incredible. Hands down, Blind date is the best band I’ve seen perform at weddings and they are definitely worth looking into if you are going that route for your reception! The guests had an amazing time and because of that, we were able to get some pretty epic dancing photos!
All in all, it was a great day and evening and definitely one of my favorite Austin weddings I’ve photographed this year!
