Hill Country Bridal Session | Dripping Springs and Stonehouse Villa

Jessica and Will got married at the gorgeous Stonehouse Villa in Driftwood this past November! For Jessica’s bridal session, she knew she wanted to do some of her photos at the venue and some others in a hill country field. Luckily, I knew of some great fields in nearby Dripping Springs, so we headed out there for sunset photos after finishing up at Stonehouse Villa.

We got so lucky with the beautiful fall weather and had a stunning sunset behind the fields. Jessica’s dress was absolutely beautiful and flowing, perfect for bridal photos in this setting.

One of the things I love about being an Austin wedding photographer is getting to do the bridal sessions! I offer them with every wedding package and I truly love them so much. The truth is, on your wedding day, you might not get a lot of time to get photos of just yourself amidst all the craziness of the day! Getting photos of yourself in your wedding gown; the one you dreamed about since you were little; the one you finally picked after trying on dozens and dozens of dresses, will be something you won’t ever regret. I have never had a bride say it wasn’t worth it. In fact, most brides end up ordering large prints for their wedding reception table!

The other great thing about doing an Austin bridal session with your wedding photographer is getting to do trial hair and makeup! This will give you the opportunity to tell your stylist what you like and don’t like, and you will get to see how everything looks in the photos. If there is something that feels slightly off, you know what to adjust for your wedding day. The same goes for your photos! It is great to get in front of the camera before the big day, to get comfortable and also to have the time to talk to your wedding photographer about how you feel the most comfortable when taking photos.
