Austin Spring Family Photos at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

Spring time in Austin brings so much beauty to the city! One of the most beautiful places in Austin to see a variety of plants is the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, and boy have I been doing a lot of photo sessions there lately! Not only am I photographing a lot of families, but I am also photographing a lot of elopements and small weddings at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. The neat thing about the wildflower center is that different plants are in bloom all year-round, which means we get varying backdrops each time I visit! After seeing the fun family photos below, it’s no wonder I love this little spot so much!

The Family

This family was so much fun to photograph! Really, kids bring a whole new flair to family photos. It is almost impossible to not have fun chasing kids around with my camera and seeing the funny poses they come up with. One of my favorite things to do with kids is to just let them be themselves; that means running around, laughing, and goofing off. As you’ll see in the photos below, at one point during our session, they found an art sculpture to play in and around. As they were hanging of the sculpture laughing and posing for the camera, I got some really fun shots that I know their parents will forever cherish as it captures the personalities of their kids at this age!

Colors and more colors!

I absolutely loved the colors this family wore for their family session at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. They had blues and white, with varying patterns and solid colors. It really was perfect color coordination and their colors looked so beautiful against all the spring time greens, blues, and pastels you see in the plants and trees surrounding them. A lot of families ask me how to coordinate outfits, and this is a great example of how to go about it!

All in all, this was a beautiful spring day in Austin for family photography. I really enjoyed meeting this family and doing some more fun and creative shots, since it’s hard not to with three young kids in the mix! Get in touch today to schedule your family photo session!
