Dress as creatively as you like. Try to avoid too many dark colors or clashing patterns. I've seen women wear sundresses with prints, bold and bright shirts with a casual pair of jeans, and muted or light-toned simple outfits and they all look wonderful. You can even bring a few outfits to your session, and we will make sure we choose a location where you can change.
Make sure to bring water and a snack! Texas is hot so much of the year being pregnant is not easy! I am more than happy to take a break with you while you get your energy back up.
Two to three weeks after your session, you'll receive your images on an online gallery. From there you will be able to choose your gallery from the gallery store. I always send out a few sneak peek images within 1-2 days after our session, because I know how hard it can be to wait!
Why Use Rising Oak Images as Your Austin Maternity Photographer?
I can't even begin to tell you how much I love meeting soon-to-be-parents and talking over ideas for an Austin maternity photo session. Maternity photos can look so magical and beautiful. I love location scouting for these fun shoots! I have been a professional maternity photographer for almost 10 years, and since moving to Austin, TX, I love it even more, surrounded by the beautiful hill country and all it has to offer for perfect landscape backdrops.
Great Locations for an Austin Maternity Photo Session
Austin has so many gorgeous outdoor locations to offer when it comes to choosing a location for your maternity photos. I absolutely love the hill country, it's towering oak trees, tall grass, and endless sky. Some of my favorite locations include Reimers Ranch, Mckinney Falls, and Pedernales Falls. There is nothing like it for capturing the beauty of pregnancy. I also love heading into the city for fun urban maternity photos. South Congress Ave is just one great area of Austin to go for maternity photos, and there are plenty of others.
My Connection with the Austin Community
I live in Dripping Springs, and the Texas Hill Country is my home. I've lived in a lot of places around the US and the world, and Austin really feel the most like home! The subjects of my photos are my neighbors, and I enjoy meeting them and getting to know their stories. Since I'm a mother myself, I'm aware of the sentimentality that goes into the process of welcoming this new addition to your family! If you are interested in a maternity photo session, get in touch and lets chat!
Taking your maternity photos is all about YOU! That means we need to collaborate! Tell me your favorite places in Austin and what you envision that would make a great shoot. I want to know everything from the color of the dress you'll wear to your Pinterest board of ideas!
In addition, I offer a great discount on a newborn and maternity bundle. Get in touch to inquire or go to the investment page to find out more information on purchasing a bundle. This is a great way to save money and gives us lots of time to get to know each other and before the arrival of your little one!
