Wedding at The Oaks at High Hill | Keanna and Calvin

The Oaks at High Hill is a gorgeous wedding venue in Schulenburg. You may not have heard of it yet since it is fairly new, and it has so much going for it! The venue is perfect for Austin or San Antonio couples looking for a hill country feel! There are large oak trees, rolling hills, really cute casitas for the bride and groom to get ready in, and a simple and modern interior for receptions.

Keanna wanted to do her bridal session at The Oaks at High Hill, so we did it on a warm Texas evening, utilizing the interior and exterior of the building as well as the surrounding fields and trees! Keanna’s dress is absolutely stunning and popped even more with the gorgeous florals by Jordan Flowers and Events.

As an Austin and San Antonio wedding photographer, the location of this venue is perfect for couples from both cities looking for a hill country venue that isn’t too far away. The wedding day itself was lovely for Keanna and Calvin, with friends and family joining the amazing ceremony site under the venue’s towering oak tree. We had such a great time photographing this Austin couple’s wedding!

One important thing to keep in mind when putting together a timeline for your wedding is when to have the ceremony for the perfect lighting. In this case, the couple timed the ceremony to be just about 1.5 hours before sundown! With a short ceremony and a small list of family photos, this left us the perfect amount of time to get the wedding party and photos of the bride and groom all within the golden hour before sunset.
